About this artwork
Being a huge David Bowie fan, Hipsher was over the moon when he met him in person in NYC. This piece refers to the 7th song on Bowie's last album, Black Star is titled, "I Can't Give Everything Away." It would prove to be the last song he'd ever record as he died just two days after the album's release. Google the video for this song. It is remarkable. This painting references my feelings for his passing and this song in particular.
