About this artwork
Inspired by the two surgeries he has undergone so far to remove a rather large, cancerous tumor from his neck. He has lost his left sternocleidomastoid muscle, part of his parotid gland, 5 lymph nodes and more. Hipsher also almost lost his left ear as well. He did lose the nerves that allow you to feel it and 50% of his hearing there. The colors inform the hospital surgeons greens and other materials like his gowns and bedding, etc.
