About this artwork
This piece is about an American Native Dance ritual called the Ghost Dance. This Dance was performed as a ritual to commune with ancestorial spirits requesting guidance tribal concerns. This guidance was often communicated in "visions" that were "pre-verbal". Many visual forms in abstraction are also pre-verbal and communicate a sense beyond words.
