About this artwork
this canvas is soft and yet the improvised features in India ink carry within them the force of movement. The color of the taupe background softens because it is like powdery. This is the song of beings who take shape and allow themselves to exist. Each in their own way. We find there the work of the artist around movement, improvisation. On this canvas, the silhouettes are painted with India ink, at the heart of the artist's work.To preserve the…
fineness of the ink on the canvas, while highlighting the silhouettes, the artist used a powdered acrylic paint, very soft. The custom frame is made of wood painted in the same shade as the backdrop, and this adds depth. With the frame, the painting measures 82.5 cm by 82.5 cm

Claire B. Masimbert is a French painter and sculptor whose works have been exhibited nationally. In her figurative compositions, which she identifies with modern art brut, her subjects are often depicted in movement. This symbolizes an encounter, the otherness, and the reflection of the other in the mirror. Masimbert describes her characters as "seeking to advance and to allow themselves to be". Her painterly compositions are created using acrylics and India ink, her sculptures are made of cement, wood, and steel.
