About this artwork
Self portrait. It was created spontaneously over a charcoal pencil drawing on canvas. originally it was supposed to be a monotonous oil sketch, which was then quickly colored and executed quickly in order to allow the spontaneity of the first draft to take effect. In contrast to the oil paintings, no layering technique based on each other was used in the application of paint, but was done alla Prima.
