About this artwork
My Instagram friend Kim spontaneously sent me a photo that she had taken while walking. The motif reminded her of me and how much I love the smell of grass. The summer holidays, which I was often able to spend at my grandmother's house, are one of my best childhood memories. It stood in the middle of meadows and fields. To walk into the tall grass, literally dive into it and become invisible, surrounded by the sweet and spicy scent of grass and flowers,…
had something magical for me. "I thought you would enjoy it," wrote Kim, "the grass is just the right height for you!" I was immediately enthusiastic and started painting. In order to be able to share my joy with her again, I took a photo every now and then while painting, so that she could get an idea of the work process. From there came this little film.
