About this artwork
In this spring series, here is the prunus, the first to display its pink and purple tones in the garden. Its delicate pink flowers have a very limited lifespan, just a few days to enjoy them. To paint them is to prolong the pleasure of the eyes, an attempt to immortalize spring and hope in the hearts of men.
Each flower is worked with attention to detail. A few petals are tossed by the wind. The azure blue sky of the French Riviera, crossed by a… few cloudy veils created with an aerosol spray, constitutes the background of this composition. At first glance realistic, this Japanese-style painting also resembles naive art when we look more closely, reflecting the simple beauty of these fresh and modest flowers.
Very fine brushwork for details.
The title corresponds to the date of birth of a recently deceased loved one.
Claire Morand, a psychologist and painter, translates her figurative and sometimes impressionistic world through acrylics. Her technique oscillates between meticulous detail and instinctive freedom, using brushes, palette knives, and fingers to capture movement and light. Her works vibrate with positive emotions, infusing joy and well-being to transmute suffering into beauty. Another aspect of Claire's artistic work: she illustrates and personalises mailboxes for private individuals in the south of France and Italy. His village becomes the village of mailboxes that tell the dreams and lives of its inhabitants... gradually his mailboxes bloom everywhere. She even designed the decoration for the Anatole Jakovsky Museum of Naïve Art in Nice, where she occasionally leads painting workshops as part of events organized by the Friends of the Anatole Jakovsky Museum association.
