About this artwork
In this watercolor, I explore the morphology and contrasting textures of the avocado (Persea americana). My main interest was capturing the transition between the dark roughness of the skin and the creamy smoothness of the pulp in shades of green and yellow.
Through meticulous work with projected shadows, I sought to give the two halves a tangible, almost sculptural volume. It is a work that highlights the beauty of the everyday, emphasizing the… perfection of natural forms and the chromatic richness hidden in the simplest elements of our table.
