About this artwork
In this work, I have merged passion and pigments to capture a living essence, where silhouettes mingle with nature. Oil brings shapes to life, revealing a dialogue between shadow and light. Every brushstroke is an emotion, a story waiting to resonate in your space, bringing dynamic energy and captivating harmony.
Originally from Medellín and based in Paris since 1979, Clara Ramírez Katz made a transition from textile creation (ENSAAMA, ESMOD) to visual arts and was trained by Jean Bertholle at the Académie de Saint-Roch.
Her career has been marked by major collaborations with galleries in Saint-Germain-des-Prés and the Bastille district. She was selected for the Salon de Montrouge in 2005. She also participated in the 2017 Colombia-France Year.
After ten years of representation by the Couteron Gallery (2010-2020), the artist is now opening the doors of her studio. There, she continues her research at the boundary between abstraction and figuration, recently focusing on a personal reinterpretation of Mont Sainte-Victoire, an iconic subject of Western modernity.
