This work is a vibrant and tactile free-weaving, measuring 80 x 50 cm. It transcends traditional two-dimensionality to assert itself as a wall sculpture.
Dominated by a generous, curly creamy white, it evokes masses of cottony clouds escaping from the plane of the textile. Texture is the real protagonist: voluminous knots, thick strands, and bouclette stitches create a deep relief and an irregular surface that calls to the eye and touch.
Pops… of rich color enliven this organic backdrop: accents of dark burgundy red, deep forest green,
I passionately wove this piece in cotton and wool, blending textures and volumes to awaken the senses. Each knot, each relief evokes an inner landscape, vibrant with raw and organic energy. This work brings a warm and lively atmosphere to your space, a breath of tactile abstraction that invites contemplation and softness.
After 17 years cultivating kindness and innovation within the French national education system, Clarissa Vasté chose to leave a system that no longer resonated with her values to embrace her true nature. Her quest for meaning initially led her to interior design, before a personal upheaval in 2022 prompted her to express her emotions through textiles. A passionate self-taught artist, she explored weaving and embroidery before tufting emerged as a revelation: “I found in it the volume and freedom of expression I so desperately needed.” Today, the artist sculpts wool to make the intangible tangible. Fascinated by the vibrancy of colors and the sensuality of materials, she plays with contrasts and textures to create dreamlike and organic landscapes. Her works are invitations to escape, where the viewer is invited to inhabit the material. Through this work with fiber, the artist asserts an absolute freedom: To Be!
