This work speaks to the enigmatic nature of human expression, capturing the indecipherable gazes we often hide from the world. Faces emerge from the surface with the silent force of a silent choir. Created using etching and aquatint techniques, the work presents a rich textural texture of contrasts and nuances. The figures, almost sculpted into the slab, emerge from a deep blue background, evoking… the memory sedimented within the stone. The fixed gazes, enigmatic and misaligned, seem to question the viewer, creating a dialogue suspended between past and present, between what is revealed and what remains hidden.
