About this artwork
As a geologist and artist, my gaze seeks to reveal hidden micro-landscapes beneath the surface of the everyday. In the self-portrait series 'Woman's Skin,' I explore the universality of textures by merging my own skin with the landscape, demonstrating that we are matter subject to the same processes of erosion and transformation as the Earth. In this exercise of mimicry, I become another fragment of nature to investigate the profound relationship…
