About this artwork
This work has seen quite a bit. It was created at the legendary Tacheles art gallery in Berlin. In 2009, it participated in the DACH-IX art festival in Minsk, at the Republican Art Gallery of the Belarusian Union of Artists "Palace of Arts."
There it was discovered by the press and was explicitly mentioned during the exhibition because of its extraordinary painting technique.
The oil pencil drawing on canvas is complemented by fine lines of chalk… and pencil. The impression is cool and fresh. It's one of my earliest works of this kind, and when I look at it, I sense early winter, the stormy sky, and perhaps it's even snowed?
The traces of his adventures are visible in the work. I think they enhance its character. The canvas has no painted edges. If that bothers you, you can put a frame around the painting. Perhaps a white shadow gap that doesn't constrain or limit the image too much.
Claudia Viehl, a talented painter, illustrator and printmaker, takes us into her own world of artistic expression. With her imaginative mix of drawing and painting, she creates powerful contrasts and consciously leaves room for the unfinished, because she sees this as a means of expression. Claudia aims not only to show the exact representation of nature, but to inspire moods and feelings such as hope, uncertainty, anger or happiness with her works of art. Her art is an emotional journey and an invitation to empathize, to change one's perspective and to shift one's horizon.
