About this artwork
This work is inspired by this holistic vision of humankind and Chinese thought, which considers humanity as a three-dimensional being, acting as a bridge between Heaven (spiritual and universal forces) and Earth (concrete and life-giving energies). Humanity is therefore not isolated: it is situated between these two dimensions and constitutes a central link in the universal ecosystem, with the mission of maintaining a harmonious relationship with… spiritual and earthly forces. This implies the responsibility of cultivating one's own inner harmony to contribute to universal balance.
Clément Billiere is a multi-talented artist, skilled in painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture, stained glass, and comics, thanks to his training at the University of Aix-en-Provence and in various prestigious workshops. For over 45 years, he has combined figurative art and portraiture with an abstract practice, exploring light, movement, and escapism through a rich and free palette. His works resonate with sincere emotions, ranging from enthusiasm and nostalgia to poetry, sharing a passion for everyday life, nature, music, and feeling. It was upon receiving the International Arts Guild's Palme d'Or in Fine Arts in 1979 that this artist truly came to prominence, remaining modest and averse to the ostentatious practices of publicity in the visual arts. He works in solitude and appreciates tranquility, having traveled extensively. His harmonies express an inner lyricism that bursts forth in color.
