Oxygen allows us to breathe, to survive, to stay alive; although it seems we only become aware of its importance when it becomes scarce. It is well known that photosynthesis, carried out by marine microorganisms and terrestrial photosynthetic organisms, is responsible for the presence of the oxygen we breathe in the air. The resurgence of fires and deforestation threatens some of the most biodiverse regions on… the planet and essential carbon sinks for our climate. Therefore, whether one is a climate change skeptic or not, shouldn't we be alarmed by the human influence on this issue?
Clément Billiere is a multi-talented artist, skilled in painting, drawing, engraving, sculpture, stained glass, and comics, thanks to his training at the University of Aix-en-Provence and in various prestigious workshops. For over 45 years, he has combined figurative art and portraiture with an abstract practice, exploring light, movement, and escapism through a rich and free palette. His works resonate with sincere emotions, ranging from enthusiasm and nostalgia to poetry, sharing a passion for everyday life, nature, music, and feeling. It was upon receiving the International Arts Guild's Palme d'Or in Fine Arts in 1979 that this artist truly came to prominence, remaining modest and averse to the ostentatious practices of publicity in the visual arts. He works in solitude and appreciates tranquility, having traveled extensively. His harmonies express an inner lyricism that bursts forth in color.
