About this artwork
Presto I (Purple) is a reproduction fine art print of an intaglio that I etched and then went back into with watercolor. I am not selling the originals at this time. I took my "Träume" plate that I etched based on Wagner's sheet music, but abstracted it and then added paint. I did not run this plate through a press as I had with just the Träume pieces. For this image I hand pressed the piece to give an ethereal quality and created a watercolor wash… to further obscure the sheet music. This piece has been put Ito a royal purple wooden frame. Please note that the image with the frame has a bit of glare and does not show the true intensity of the print as the image without the frame.
Colleen Surprise Jones recently earned her MFA at Paris College of Art in (contemporary) Drawing. Afterward, she completed an internship at Galerie Joseph Tang just outside Paris. Jones builds her narratives in quick-drying paint and graphite. Her style, born of spontaneity, rejects preconceived outcomes, promoting immersive exploration and fluid transformation. Her work radiates spirituality, eternity, and mental health resonances, stirring visceral responses crucial to her art's completion. She often returns to her dance roots and utilises her feet in the creation of the work.
