About this artwork
In this work, part of the Hearts series, I explore the intangible connection that unites human beings through the invisible yet deeply felt; a union born of an emotional bond as a transformative act that leaves an indelible mark on the soul. At the same time, the piece reclaims the analog experience as a conscious gesture to rescue what was lost in the digital transition: in an era where immediacy has displaced handwritten correspondence, this work…
revives the act of surrender through the creative process, evoking both the physicality of the stroke and the emotional and ritual weight of waiting. With Hearts, I propose to reflect on the materiality of communication in a dematerialized world, restoring the symbolic and affective dimension of writing and returning to the analog gesture its emotional power in the face of digital transience.

Consuelo Palma, a Chilean artist based in Croatia, is a self-taught artist with a background in graphic design and a self-taught painter. She primarily works with mixed-media painting and ceramic sculpture. She has explored a variety of media, including printmaking, metalwork, and collage, among others. Her eclectic style combines minimalist elements with touches of surrealism, using automation as a creative method to capture the essence of the inner world, resulting in unique pieces.
