"Refreshment in the Mountain Lake", 60 x 80 cm, 2025, acrylic on canvas
An acquaintance of mine swims in a nearby lake, summer and winter, no matter how cold it is. I find that wonderfully brave and resilient. Even though I admire it, I can't bring myself to do it. So I simply incorporated that idea into my painting. A young woman bravely walks into the cool water of a mountain lake. Around her, softly blurred mountains form the frame of the image.… Small white waves ripple in the gentle breeze, and a golden shimmer hangs over everything. Cheers to all the brave swimmers!
