About this artwork
An expansive landscape that exudes peace, tranquility and beauty. I strives to capture the feeling of beeing a brunch of tree in water and I was interested in capturing the refelction off the surface of the water in the distance, in addition to the light refraction within the water itself.
Color, line, and form are more important than the details of the actual subject matter. I want to give a sense or feel for subject rather than trying to imitate… nature.
This painting literally dances on the wall. The subtle yet intriguing play of blue color creates a mood that changes throught the day, dipending on the direction of the light.
It is compelling, yet soft and soothing piece.

Cornelia Petrea is an experienced Romanian painter who has exhibited her work in France, Monaco, Romania and the United States. She obtained a mechanical engineering degree before turning to a future in art, but now fully focuses on her true passion for painting. Portraying the beauty of nature as well as her own life story, she constructs acrylic on canvas works full of hope, energy and harmony.
