About this artwork
In this work, I use watercolor to explore the delicacy and fragility of human emotions. "Big Hopes" makes the invisible visible, transforming the idea of life. The heart, an intimate and fragile construct, is made of the invisible thread of desire, faith, and projection into the future. The figure suggests that living is an act of constant creation, where each heartbeat is woven with a portion of hope.

Cris Valencia is a multidisciplinary artist based in Spain whose works have been exhibited nationally and in France. Through her art, she reflects upon issues that surround humanity, including people's internal natures as well as their relationships. In addition, Valencia's pieces also contain autobiographical elements. Her diverse compositons are marked by her use of soft aesthetics, warm pastel tones, and bold content.
