Animals have always been my guides. With this painting, I am not seeking the perfection of a reproduction, but the truth of a moment, the one where I encounter the subject internally before painting it.
Here, the zebra becomes wave and light, a living architecture made of moving stripes, opening onto a cloak of contemporary colors: abyssal blue, deep greens, vibrant ochres, touches of garnet and muted violets. These hues are not decorative by chance:… they convey what the animal tells me at the moment I create it, its nobility, its sensitivity, its mystery.
