About this artwork
This work is part of a series created through an intuitive process based on fire, wood, and earth. I work directly with natural elements — burning the surface of wood and interacting with ash, soil, and natural pigments. The traces left by fire are not controlled; they become records of transformation, erosion, and memory.
The grid-like structure suggests fragments of lived experiences — moments shaped, altered, or partially erased by time. For… me, scorched wood is a metaphor for human memory: layered, fragile, imperfect, and constantly changing.
Through this work I reflect on how we often rush through life, pursuing status and material success while unintentionally burning away what truly matters. The piece invites the viewer to slow down and contemplate what remains after the “fire of time” has passed — traces of loss, renewal, and quiet beauty embedded in matter itself.
Raymunda Boho is a painter, sculptor, and conceptual artist who moves fluidly between painting, collage, and mixed media. Her practice is rooted in intuitive, independent exploration of form and material. She builds her works in layers, using hand-crafted elements, natural pigments, earth, and organic textures that carry traces of time and process.
Her inspiration comes from nature, the Mediterranean landscape, and the beauty of imperfection. Her works are a meditation on memory, transformation, and transience — on how lived experiences leave subtle imprints within us. Through texture, color, and quiet resonance, Raymunda invites the viewer into a space of pause, contemplation, and mindful presence with the artwork.
