About this artwork
This painting is based on my interests in mixing imagery from consumer culture with ideas from mythology. I see mass media as a form of modern dream theater. This painting is borrowing it's title from the Jazz world of Sonny Clark's album of the same name. This woman, a partial fragmented demigoddess, with the stiletto heels is a symbol of hyper femininity. She is walking on water with the ease of a dream. I think the image evokes a journey, or a…
