About this artwork
Through this work, I explore the multifaceted nature of the self and the tension between the image we project and who we truly are. The characters, both real and almost unreal, embody this profound inner dialogue. The vibrant energy and striking contrasts create an intense atmosphere, ready to inhabit and energize any space where it is displayed.

Daniel Blaclard, a self-taught painter and sculptor who later trained at the Blot School in Reims, creates works on canvas, wood, paper, and painted sculpture, using acrylics and oils. He skillfully blends figurative, dreamlike, surrealist expressionism, and cubism, producing colorful works sometimes tinged with irony. Through his series on circus games, La Fontaine's fables, and musicians, he evokes universal emotions, passionately exploring the human condition, the allure of rituals, humor, and the energy of music.
