About this artwork
This is one of the paintings where I start with the colors I want, then build abstract shapes with them… and little by little the composition shifts and tends towards a semi-abstract landscape. Then, the finishing touches complete the impression which has slowly emerged from the abstraction.

Daniel Bondard, a native of Romania, emigrated to France as a child, became M.D. and then a software developer. Always willing to cultivate his creative side along with his scientific career, he began painting fifteen years ago, becoming a full time fine arts painter. His work probes the unique characteristics of diverse materials like acrylics enhanced by marble powders and tools constructed by the artist himself. In his abstract works, Daniel builds an emotional connection with the viewer through bold brushwork and perceptive employment of color and movement.
