About this artwork
2015 DYLAN DOES SINATRA – A 1965 press question: Do you consider yourself primarily as a singer or as a poet? Dylan, "Ahhh ...I think of myself more as a song & dance man." Frank Sinatra to Bob, pointing to the stars, "You and me, pal, we got blue eyes, we're from up there. These other bums are from down here." Dylan, "I remember thinking he might be right." So, Bob recorded three albums of standards.
RENAISSANCE MAN — Musician, poet, author,… Nobel laureate, painter, sculptor, actor, whiskey man! One biographer wrote, "His art is his life. It is profoundly who he is. Dylan doesn't control the art; the art controls Bob Dylan and remakes him time after time."
2021 - 2025 ROUGH & ROWDY WAYS TOUR — Between songs, Bob rises from his piano, walks to center stage and strikes a pose ..."I say it again: take pictures or don't take pictures. We can either play or we can pose. Okay?"...He then returns to the piano. Until his final exit, the fans remain mesmerized.

About the series:
WHAT WAS HE (Bob Dylan) THINKING?
In 1964, when Bob Dylan sang these first two lines of
I SHALL BE FREE No.10
"I’m just average, common too,
I’m just like him, the same as you"
I wanted to believe him. But I was not just like him. Besides, I couldn’t sing, let alone play guitar. Sixty-five years later, I’m still listening and often still wonder — What Was HE Thinking?
The SQUARE IMAGE TRIPTYCHS highlight moments within Bob Dylan’s career while simply questioning what he was thinking during those situations. (Special configurations (Your choice of any 3) requests accepted).
The RECTANGULAR IMAGES illustrate a song’s lyrics, literally, the way I heard them the first time, straightforward without concern as to what Bob might have meant. It’s all about the visuals. Some reflect a single line or a single verse, while others include imagery for every verse of a song.
