About this artwork
Evil Twin
Acrylic on portrait grade linen
23.75 x 38.5 inches
2020
This piece belongs to a series of paintings created with the aid of a 3d modeling and animation program. A system was created that could take a shape, fracture it and apply colors from a predetermined palette randomly to each piece. Hundreds of variations can be created within minutes. Of these hundreds of compositions, a handful are chosen to turn into paintings. The choices are… made intuitively. If 200 frames are output, there are perhaps 10 that are usable.
