About this artwork
In this work, a figure disguises itself with the wildness and independence of the wolf, in an attempt to appropriate archaic, instinctive powers. Using ink on paper, I capture the powerful contrast between the animal and the human, the play of dark and light that shapes our inner and outer world. My impulse was to reflect on my own connection to nature and culture.

Daniel Dwyer, an aspiring artist, has been fascinated by art and media such as comics, picture books and animated films, which primarily use hand-drawn techniques, since his early childhood. This passion is reflected in his current work. Using dynamic lines in ink and watercolor on paper, Dwyer creates silhouettes that gain vitality through accentuated coloring.
