This series of paintings confront the language of cinema and painting, Walter Benjamin said that cinema is opposed to the close contemplation of a work due to the mode of perception typical of this medium.
The images are extracted directly from the film to be later painted and interpreted. This means that, in addition to the symbolic load offered by the frozen image itself, the plot of the film is implicit.
That is to say, the work offers a priori… a double reading, on the one hand everything
that can suggest us in reference to film history (in the event that
recognize said film) and on the other hand, everything that the image itself suggests by itself
same.
