On 3 September 2024, after a summer storm, rose pinks and pale blues washed the Hornbæk coastline in… fleeting light. Sea, sand and concrete hovered between tension and calm. Weathered Second World War bunkers stand in quiet counterpoint to the human presence, holding the stillness that follows disruption — a fragile balance between permanence and transience.

Daniel Gilpin is an internationally award-winning artist and photographer, recognised with 43 international awards and distinctions in the past 24 months.
