About this artwork
In this work, I wanted to capture the subtle balance between abstract shapes that suggest a minimalist city or landscape and an unknown place. The contrasts between dark and light areas create a visual harmony, bringing a calming and contemporary energy to your space, inviting reflection and meditation. It is part of the North of the North series.
Daniel Lalonde is a painter and printmaker, trained at UQAM and with twenty years of professional experience, working on canvas, wood, and paper. He explores the subtle encounter between abstraction and figuration, notably through glazes, rich textures, and refined composition, suggesting fictional landscapes inspired by Nordicity. His work invites contemplation and aims to awaken an inner resonance, giving a sense of the poetry of wide open spaces and the depth of the human soul.
