About this artwork
The Gift of the Flower, oil on canvas, 100 x 100 cm, was painted in May 2016, in public, in the Cour d'Honneur of the Château de Mery sur Oise. During these years, I worked jointly on figuration and abstraction, in a free and rapid execution, sometimes including materials in the painting. which are included in the treatment of the background, drowned in the painting. I started from a portrait captured on social networks, of Monica Bellucci, without seeking resemblance, just inspired by the expression of her gaze, and the volumes.
