About this artwork
The HORTUS SUITE series, consisting of 10 pieces, was painted between spring and summer 2019 in response to a request from the Château de SALLEGOURDE in Villenave d'Ornon near Bordeaux.
Apart from the fact that it was painted with acrylic on plexiglass, which is unique in my production of paintings, these paintings are the only ones made between 2018 and 2021, a period when, for personal reasons, it was impossible for me to paint but only to draw.…
The main appeal of acrylic paint, in my opinion, is the richness of the vibrant, zesty tones it offers. They allowed me to create a dynamic and cheerful feeling, in line with the season and this period of my life.
This painting #4 is an archetype of composition through the interplay of rhythms, planes, and colors!

Daniel PIRROTTA, a self-taught artist, expresses himself through painting, classical and digital drawing, and sculpture.
With a long and distinguished career, he lives and works in FRANCE, in Saintes in Charente-Maritime, after having practiced in Paris and then in Bordeaux.
His pictorial language draws its essence from the confrontation of the imaginary with the real. It stems from a slow evolution between the figuration of his early work and a long period of lyrical abstraction.
Today it offers an original and unique synthesis, neither figurative nor strictly abstract, but fully allusive, where nature, with its subjective power, is an obvious motif.
