About this artwork
"Apegos" sincere me with the affections. It is a reflection that does not run away from attachment to people but rather accepts it and works to improve it.
It belongs to a collection of drawings that poses the vulnerability and dynamics in the act of embracing. An experience that is welcome and goodbye at the same time, that does not require arms but contact, that despite being an ephemeral act has memory and leaves a mark.
From sensitive and… fragile materials, the discourse is constructed through lines and spots that imitate hugs and cling to the support, leaving traces and voids.
This work was exhibited in the collective exhibition Nota Personal at the Modafoca gallery in Santo Domingo.

Daniela Urdaneta is a young talent from Venezuela whose works have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Urdaneta developed her own artistic practice in high school and defined her unique style through delicate line drawings in ink and watercolors. She explores narrative possibilities of the body through themes of eroticism, gestural movement, and everyday experiences.
