About this artwork
This is the painting that also gives its name to the project "Dove eravamo Rimasti" and represents an evolution of my style, towards a greater abstraction of my Matericordi.
In my work, I use acrylic and chalk to capture a storm of emotions in an abstract and expressionist style.
The colors have become warmer and the stratification even more material. I wanted to play with the materials used, giving space not only to acrylic colors but also to… multi-material mediums such as stucco, plaster and cement.
I explore the complexity of memories and pieces of memory that emerge from my past, with energetic layers and colors that reflect the chaotic beauty of life.
Mine is an invitation to reflect on the ephemeral nature of our moments and relationships. The space is filled with an intense feeling, which calls for internal dialogue, stimulating a deep emotional response in those who observe it.
Daniele Guidi, a Florentine painter, mixes media in an instinctive process where walking in nature is the starting point of his work. From this physical and mental experience, abstract landscapes and moments of inner reflection are born. It does not represent real places, but the intimate sensations that arise from moving in nature. Memories, sounds and colors emerge as imperfect traces of memory. He calls this process Paintfulness Art: a painting practice through which he creates works that invite us to slow down and inhabit our spaces with awareness. He uses unconventional, sometimes recycled, materials to create textures and depth. His abstract, nonlinear work reflects the fragmentation of memory. Guidi strives to create visually and emotionally engaging spaces, allowing viewers to reconnect with their memories in the present through his art. He lives and works in Prato where he also works as a Graphic Designer.
