About this artwork
Selamat Pagi is Malaysian for 'Goodmorning'. Inspired by my travel through Malaysia, especially Borneo, I created this artwork.
The first morninglight falls through the high treetops, a place for giants, standing strong and steady above everything else. Under the trees the darkness slowly disappears, night makes place for daylight. Fear makes place for hope while a warm light pushes the chill away.
In crafting this piece, I've poured my soul… into blending reality with the ethereal; employing acrylics to create layers of mystery and depth. In this visual symphony, the surreal dance of light and shadow invokes a sense of wonder, leading viewers down a path of introspection and tranquility. Its presence in your space promises to infuse it with an enigmatic energy, stirring the imagination and awakening the senses.
« In my work there is the subconscious, the longing for nature, our general origin and the foundation of existence. »
Daphne Bitter is an established painter from the Netherlands whose work has been featured in numerous solo shows throughout the country. Blending figuration and abstraction, Bitter represents these scenes and energies with a great attention to light and depth.
