About this artwork
'B I T E M E'' is an invitation to the 'I could've done that' crowd to keep their opinions to themselves.
I consider much of my work 'dinner party art'–art that's dying to be discussed, dissected and disagreed upon.
I've spent my career as a designer doing other people's bidding, this time, I'm pleasing myself. So Bite me.
The roses were a Valentine's Day gift to my wife. Instead of withering, they dried out beautifully—a symbol of enduring… love.
I still have them in the studio, and they feature in a number of my
other works.

Daren Cook, a creative director and Central St. Martins graduate, wields multiple mediums with graphic design flair. He merges thick textured paint with graphic motifs and found imagery, leading to a layered and textural style that boundary-blurs art and design. His bold and occasionally provocative artwork, infused with humor and introspection, questions the roles of artists and audiences in the modern art market.
