Daria Tkacheva dedicated the art piece «BROKEN SLEEP» to the anxious and unsettling feeling, which haunts a human in the deep nightly darkness. In the wake during nighttime hidden thoughts are being open to us, we reach insights, dreams and fears. The mind is defenceless in front of the explosive current of thoughts that rupture from the depths of of subconsciousness. However, in these depths we can learn more about ourselves, and meet the real “me”.…
By adding a neon yellow-green colour the artist creates an accent on the relativity of the reality in the moment of a nighttime awakening. Almost ragged strokes of paint create the additional effect that brings the viewer to the familiar feeling.
