Women sleep. In their dreams they see how they became small, week and helpless. In their dreams they see there are borders for their possibilities, rules for their magic and bans for their energy. In their dreams they see how their life passes them by like an enemy’s body which you are gazing after with disappointment: you should feel victory or at least gloating, but you feel nothing except tiredness.
Women sleep. They forgot their true nature and… essence: that they are all-powerful creators whose second name is not weakness but anti-fragility, whose gift is not tears but the ability to extract beauty from chaos and give it chance to grow and multiply. They feel guilty of something and bound by something.

Daria Zaseda is a prizewinning artist from Ukraine whose works have been featured in solo and group shows internationally. Working in mixed media, Zaseda focuses on women as one of her primary subjects in painting, finding purpose in revealing their psychological and social contexts layer by layer. Her work is characterized by this femininity and a great attention to detail through the use of intricate patterns in ink surrounding her subjects.
