About this artwork
In 2021, I started a series of paintings entitled Portrait, which represents characters taking poses in front of the camera, but with their faces covered, and in which it is a reference to the difficulty of showing the other’s our true face.
I had also painted a series of paintings titled Still Life depicting figs as a hungry mouth, and in which they criticize our civilization that is continuously devouring the planet.
In the Portrait series of 2022,… the two ideas were combined together, so here I depict portraits of a being who is the hungry, the outcast, the hidden...etc.
In any case, the paintings are open to the viewer's interpretation as well.
