"...Suddenly I realized that I had been watching her up until the moment she left the room. At that moment I felt as if someone made me wake up from a dream. It was a very weird feeling. Everyone in the room could confirm that I was wide awake. But were they? I felt like someone was taking something precious from me, so I desired to prolong that moment - like a drug addict, even though I was never a fan of such… things..."

Daryna Nesterenko is an artist based in Poland whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, in England and Ukraine. In addition, her art has been featured in publications such as Quiet Sirens. Nesterenko likens her different series to puzzles, as each of her pieces is part of an ongoing narrative, imbued with particular feelings, emotions, memories, and, most importantly, the beauty of a woman’s body. Her compositions convey her worldview, as well as the path to self-acceptance and self-love.
