The artist only realized that the man portrayed looks like her father when she talked to her gallery owner about it. She hadn't noticed the similarity before, just as the similarity between parents and partner remains in the subconscious for many people. "Looking Back" shows a bald man with a mustache, looking into space, absent-minded. He remembers - and with him the artist.
