About this artwork
"Man fluctuates between virtue and error, that makes us human. Self-redemption is part of the process of building the individual."
In this work, I sought to capture the duality of the human spirit through the use of acrylic and charcoal. The strength of black and white contrasts with hints of turquoise, symbolizing moments of clarity and hope in the internal struggle. Each stroke is imbued with emotion, attempting to convey personal redemption… through art. This piece is not just a portrait; it is a mirror of resilience and emotional transformation.

I am David Aranda (Davaro), an artist from Barcelona.
As a child, he had two distinctive qualities: painting and losing track of time in the mountains.
In my teens I met the painter Tokio Ujike, who inspired me to get started in painting and art.
As a painting artist, I have exhibited my work in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Paris or Dubai; both in art fairs and in private and public exhibitions.

My work focuses on the human figure as a mirror of introspection and personal transformation. Through the face and body, I explore identity, inner conflicts, and how the self confronts itself in the contemporary world.
My visual language engages with the tradition of the classical human figure —from ancient Greece to the Renaissance— reinterpreted from a contemporary and personal perspective.
