Vilidian is a professional model with whom I work regularly.
I explore the contemporary feminine condition, iconoclastic, sure of its convictions. Despite a model/painter position coming from a patriarchal culture, I want my models to escape submissions of all kinds.
I work with the living model on a daily basis, the body is my subject. I need to seek the soul of my models to construct my message. The naked body is the only weapon we have left… when everything has been taken from us.
In this work, I explore human fragility through expressionism and realism. The softness of the acrylic hues captures the evanescence of emotions, while the dynamic, fluid brushstrokes convey a sense of movement and deep introspection. This piece conveys a poignant melancholy, which I hope will resonate deeply and enrich the space in which it will evolve.
