This work is a watercolor done on Korean paper made from mulberry fibers. The abstract watercolor motif results from observing a fragment of an urban landscape. A motif that can be repeated endlessly, like an echo.

« What I try to convey in my paintings is a certain notion of silence. The repetition of a pattern brings me closer to this silent sensation. »
David Clerc is an artist based in France who has exhibited his paintings nationally, as well as in Germany, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. His minimalist and abstract expressionist works are deeply rooted in the landscape he lives in and is part of. Currently, Clerc paints as often as he can outdoors, allowing the landscape to become his studio, exposing paintings are to the rain, wind, and sun. His compositions are also influenced by the geometrical motifs of Cistercian stained glass.
