About this artwork
In this piece, I captured the powerful yet tranquil essence of the rhinoceros, reflecting its nobility in every stroke of India ink. I wanted to capture that moment of reflection and connection with its surroundings, inviting the viewer to feel that blend of strength and serenity. This piece will fill your space with deep, contemplative energy, inspiring respect for nature and its creatures.

Colombia
David Escobar is a visual artist trained at the University of the Andes and specializing in art therapy techniques. His drawings combine India ink, pen and ink, and pastel on paper. His works virtuosically explore fantastical figuration and surrealism, evoking scenes in which animals perform human actions, thus creating absurd and poetic universes. The gestural quality of his brushstrokes and the contrasts in black and white generate images imbued with subtle humor and contemplation. His art seeks to provoke wonder, curiosity, and deep introspection in the viewer, transforming the everyday into something marvelous.
