This stack of hand made paper is part of a larger series titled Bureau, and was created by breaking up a found writing bureau, planing the pieces down to sawdust and finally mixing with abaca in order to form sheets of paper.

David Farrar is a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in Painting & Printmaking from The Glasgow School of Art, working in painting, printmaking, sculpture, woodwork, installation, and video. He draws on the Arte Povera movement, utilizing humble, everyday materials and objects to fabricate works that subtly transform the mundane through humor and a sense of playful dysfunction. His art reflects a deep appreciation of overlooked daily moments, imbuing them with a sense of wonder and wry joy that invites viewers to see the extraordinary within the ordinary.
