About this artwork
On the canvas, the paint mixed with the concrete offers a solid base creating a memory defined, bequeathed or imposed. This memory, like its effects, I stretch it, shrink it, brush it and paint it, playing with it and all the memories linked to it. This long process uses history and creates memory lapses in which everyone can see themselves in the mirror.
The time has come to rewrite, reconstruct and then embellish the past to create a happy renewal… to come.

« My art is intended for the viewers' souls. »
David Lasry is a painter, textile artist, and sculptor based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, the Netherlands, and England. He describes his art as pertaining to the consequences of memory and childhood. Stylistically, Lasry's compositions seek to escape all limits, often fusing painting with sculpture. He often creates with acrylics and cement on canvas.
