“Untitled Black” In an abstract work.
On the canvas, the paint mixed with the concrete offers a solid base creating a memory defined, bequeathed or imposed. This memory, like its effects, I stretch it, shrink it, brush it and paint it, playing with it and all the memories linked to it. This long process uses history and creates memory holes.
You will not find here a rational explanation for this table but an incomplete set of keys corresponding… to locks sometimes hidden or voluntarily forgotten in us at the other. Reminding us that humans are fragile constantly in search of themselves.
"Untitled Black" is not attached, it is a freedom in the making.

David Lasry is a painter, textile artist, and sculptor based in France whose works have been exhibited nationally, as well as in Belgium, the Netherlands, and England. He describes his art as pertaining to the consequences of memory and childhood. Stylistically, Lasry's compositions seek to escape all limits, often fusing painting with sculpture.
