About this artwork
In creating this piece, my brush danced with vibrant oils on canvas, channeling raw emotions into abstract forms. The interplay of blues conveys depth and introspection, while bold strokes in red, yellow, and green imbue it with life's dynamism. My expressionist vision coalesces into a fine art expression of the soul's complexity. This painting will infuse any space with energy and encourage contemplative engagement. It's a visual dialog meant to…
stir the spirit.
David Longwell

« I strive for self-understanding through self-expression. My work is often regarded as a slowly revealing read, as am I. »
David Longwell is an American painter and draftsman whose works have been featured in several solo and group exhibitions in the United States. He defines his style as formalist, working within traditional modernist approaches to line, color interaction, and non-representational abstraction. For Longwell, meditation guides his intuition and intuition guides his process. He creates ink drawings on clay board daily before moving to oils on canvas.
